Queer pagan.
If that hasn't scared you off.. Hi I'm Maena :)
I've been a bit of a hermit for some time, 'processing'. I'm up to meeting some new people again, just to chat about odds and ends, profound and profane. Hoping to make a few good friends in time, to hang and chill, go for walks and go places it's not so much fun and/or generally weird to go on one's own. Well.. SHARING things, I quite like that.
I may be slightly eccentric, have an odd sense of humour, eclectic in all sorts of ways. Someone once called me 'flippant and whimsical'.. correct.
I am really easy to get along with, genuinely caring, open minded, welcoming and a great listener. Though I'd really love some more mutuality in a friendship. I like myself as I am and would prefer to not need to hold back on 'the odd stuff'.. actually most fun to share that. Also, I'm fine with tough and dark stuff. Been there myself and have moved on. People I cared for too.
One of my core tenets: all things in moderation, especially moderation.
I don't like al the stiff posh-ness, dreary drab white picket fence-ness, 'keeping up with the trends' or keeping up appearances (if not a life-necessity). I like my freedom, openness and honesty whenever possible.
I tend to get along better with lads than lasses (as a life pattern). There are some amazing exceptions though, and I couldn't care if you were an alien as long as you're cool IMO
I had to think on the gender box and I really don't like having to do that. It's usually not a big deal to me (I do have my moments -rolling my eyes). Mostly I see myself as a person. Lacking the apparent strong sense many others have of being a woman or a man. I'm fine with strangers seeing me as a woman, thus approaching me as such. I don't expect random people to understand my personality or preferences in depth. I prefer talking about it as a natural part of getting to know someone. It can be interesting to think/talk about, but not something I care to constantly obsess over.
The pagan part: I'm a hedge druid. I enjoy psychology, symbolism, imagination, meditation and nature. I'm also quite down to earth, rational and scientifically inclined. I'm not so much into literal woo-woo. I do believe one's psyche can massively impact one's quality of life, as well as interactions with others and thus in some way even influencing the wider world. Not that I have any grand schemes or solutions, just a little bit of kindness and compassion here and there..
