Hi there! Not sure if anyone is really going to read this (well, I do read About Me sections so I'll try to write something decent in case you do too).
I'm not very good at describing myself and I don't want to make a huge boring list of my hobbies and interests but I also don't want to skip this part since telling a bit about myself might be important to start a conversation.
Okay, what do I share with you guys? I'm a student at a university (people who want to complain about college are pretty welcome, haha), I'm into animals (especially cats), reading, movies/series/documentaries and I love anything musical theater related.
For a very long time I believed I wasn't smart enough to learn a foreign language, the only thing I knew was a couple of random words I learned during english classes at school and the classic "I love you". However, I've always wanted to have intercultural experiences such as meeting people from all over the world, travelling abroad and accessing information beyond my mother tongue limitations. All those things seemed too distant from what I thought I was capable of, yet, I really wanted them to happen in the future so I asked myself: Why not give it a try?
I've been learning english for about two years now and I still feel like a baby, which means that I'd gladly accept any help to master my communication skills haha, but looking at where I started, I'm proud of how far I've gone so far. My grammar is solid (I still make a lot of mistakes though) and I can easily understand most of what I read/listen to in english; the problem is that I still feel stuck when it comes to expressing my ideas precisely due to my limited vocabulary and my insecurity while speaking (I worry about my accent all the time, is it irrelevant? I don't know).
I've found many people who are strongly against "hi, how are you" messages but honestly, I'm not really good at starting conversations and I understand the struggle to find an interesting topic to discuss with a complete stranger. So yeah, I do send this kind of message sometimes, but if you have something more other than just that, just drop it. I really appreciate it when people send long messages, introduce their own opinions and ask a lot of questions so don't hesitate to do any of those xd.
Okay, that's too long already, nobody is gonna read this
