I am a generally quiet person. I am a Christian and enjoy reading and thinking about philosophy, history, and the spiritual and physical world.

I play clarinet, guitar, and saxophone (mostly guitar now) and would like to start or join a band.

I used to read a lot of fantasy and science fiction, but recently I've been reading mostly nonfiction.

I've been studying programming partly for fun and partly for work, and I host a Minecraft server (it started as a learning experience writing plugins in Java, but it's become a long-term project).

My dream was to live for at least a few years in each major culture of the world (Europe, Asia, South America, the Middle East, and Africa -- sorry if I forgot one), learning the language and adapting to the culture. I'm not sure whether it will ever happen, but maybe.

English, French (reasonably fluent), and Spanish (a little). I am interested in languages in general and have studied Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and ancient Greek.
